What's new at Colefax Chocolates
Expansion & Relocation
Colefax Chocolates is celebrating 20 years of fine chocolate making.
And we feel like we have grown up. Having outgrown the kitchen premises at Haberfield, a relocation programme was in full swing during 2008 and we have made the transition to purpose built facilities at Bankstown, NSW. The premises are some what larger and more capable of handling the increase in demand for our premium quality chocolates.
The move has thus allowed us the opportunity to create a totally new look at Haberfield. The atmosphere is European-inspired elegance. The most exciting development is the introduction of the Colefax Coffee Lounge. A fabulous place to sit and relax while indulging in one of our delicious Hot Chocolates or coffee beverages, - the Affogato is heavenly! We also offer light savoury meals which are inspired by the change of seasons. See our delicious menu online.
Wholesale Supplier Agreement
Recently Colefax Chocolates was appointed the preferred handmade chocolate supplier to David Jones nationally.
We have for 2 decades now been suppling David Jones and look forward to developing their range of petit fours to include many of our more popular lines and those more in tune with current consumer tastes. It is also planned that future expansion will include our range of self indulgent and gift selections.
Honouring Reg
Many of our loyal customers would be familiar with the patriarch of the Lee family, Reg. He has entertained and educated many of you since our first retail presence in Haberfield back in 2001. So it is with great pleasure that we have developed a truffle in his honour ...
Introducing “Sir Reginald” … a Shiraz infused milk chocolate ganache in a dark chocolate truffle. Shiraz is a favourite drop of Reg’s and the Shiraz used in the recipe also has a little place in Australia’s wine making history. We have adopted some orphaned vines, first planted in the mid1860’s that otherwise were destined for destruction. The wine makers at Langmeil Winery in the South Australian Barossa Valley have successfully relocated these vines and are now producing fruit which is used to create the “Orphan Bank Shiraz”. It is this wine that is used, when not drunken, to make this special chocolate. Even if you not a red wine drinker, the perfect marriage of dark chocolate and Shiraz is a must taste experience.
